In crisis, Real Madrid scored a short success against Viktoria Plzen (2-1) on Tuesday, to keep the champions League on course. The Madrileñes lead Group G with six points, tied with Roma, led by Edin Dzeko against CSKA Moscow (3-0).
Real Madrid assures but does not reassure
Plunged into a huge crisis, with five matches without victories, including four defeats, Real Madrid finally reacted. Even if they didn’t erase everything, the Madrileens scored a big success against Viktoria Plzen at the Bernabeu on Tuesday (2-1), to settle in front of Group G of the champions League.
While their coach Julen Lopetegui is on the start, the Merengues showed pride at the beginning of the game. After a Ramos head on the post on a corner by Modric (5′), Karim Benzema opened the scoring on a licked Center by Lucas Vazquez, unexpected right back (11′).
Despite a strong possession, Madrid did not manage to make the break before the break, Isco missing two big chances (37′, 38′). Plzen took advantage of the mistakes of the Spanish defense to create danger. Petrzela (10th) and Limbersky (30th) worried Navas, before Petrzela, still him, missed the inevitable at the break, alone against the goal (44th).
Marcelo set Le Bernabeu free early in the second period, taking advantage of a perfect run from Bale (54′). But Real wasn’t reassuring with his two goals in advance. Club merengue conceded a goal from Hrosovsky (79′), who put him through some tough last moments.
